Safari Cross-Tracking on iOS Device

In this article:

If you are a participant using a MacOS or iOS device and running into an authentication error, then you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the behavior.

Option 1: Clear the cache and cookies from the Safari web browser

If you attempted to log in and received an error message relating to an authentication error, you can try to clear the cache and cookies from the Safari web browser. You can reference Apple’s support article to learn how to: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201265

Option 2: Disable the cross-site tracking from Safari

Try to edit the cross-site tracking setting within the Safari web browser on the MacOS or iOS device. To learn how to disable the setting, refer to Apple’s support article here: https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/prevent-cross-site-tracking-sfri40732/mac

After applying the first two options, make an attempt to log in at the Participant’s page pollev.com with your PollEv credential. From there, try to join your presenter’s session to submit responses.

Option 3: Use a different browser that is supported by Poll Everywhere

For a better site experience, encryption, and privacy support, Poll Everywhere strongly recommends using the latest version of the internet browsers. Older browser versions, or browsers not included in this list, may prevent you from accessing Poll Everywhere or cause certain features to not function correctly. To learn more, refer to our Supported browsers article

Option 4: Download our participant app on the device

Poll Everywhere works on mobile and tablet devices also. You can simply search for our app from the Apple App store to install it on the device. To learn more about installing the mobile app, refer to our Installing Poll Everywhere mobile app article
