If you are having trouble with Poll Everywhere after upgrading or downgrading Office, it's possible that Office or PowerPoint needs to be repaired.

Supported OS versions

• Windows 11 (Latest public release)

• Windows 10 (ESU only)

  Windows 10 is only supported for users enrolled in Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.

Take note of which Office version should be installed and follow these steps:

Solution 1: Repair Office installation

1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and search for Office.
2. Click the "Modify" button, and select the Repair option.

Solution 2: Edit the registry TypeLib value

1. Open the Registry Editor, and go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\
2. Review the following registries. Keep only the Key that follows the Office Version you are using.

Excel

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00020813-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\

• 1.7 is for Office 2010
• 1.8 is for Office 2013
• 1.9 is for Office 2016

Word

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00020905-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\

• 8.5 is for Office 2010
• 8.6 is for Office 2013
• 8.7 is for Office 2016

PowerPoint

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{91493440-5A91-11CF-8700-00AA0060263B}\

• 2.a is for Office 2010
• 2.b is for Office 2013

Solution 3: Edit registry TypeLib value part 2

1. Open Poll Everywhere log PollEvPresenterAdaptee.log. Search for TYPE_E_LIBNOTREGISTERED. Looking for an ID number. e.g. {000C03A7-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
2. Follow Microsoft's instructions for a manual repair.
